Carolina Meridian Transport is seeking experienced CDL-A dry van owner operators in Charlotte, North Carolina, and surrounding communities.
We are looking for dependable independent contractors who want access to consistent dry van freight, competitive compensation, professional dispatch support, and the freedom to make informed decisions for their trucking businesses.
Available opportunities may include Southeast regional, dedicated, short-haul, and over-the-road dry van freight. Depending on customer demand and the owner-operator’s preferred operating area, freight may include no-touch, drop-and-hook, live-load, live-unload, dedicated, and general commodity shipments.

Charlotte Dry Van Owner-Operator Position Overview
Position: CDL-A Dry Van Owner Operator
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Contract Type: Independent Contractor
Equipment: Class 8 tractor with an approved dry van trailer arrangement
Freight: General dry van commodities
Operating Area: Southeast regional, dedicated, short-haul, or OTR
Home Time: Home-weekend opportunities available on selected regional lanes
Potential Weekly Gross: $5,500–$8,500+
High-Mileage Weekly Gross Potential: $8,000–$10,000+ on qualifying weeks
Compensation: Percentage of linehaul revenue
Fuel Surcharge: 100% of applicable fuel surcharge
Settlement Schedule: Weekly direct deposit
Dispatch: Non-forced
Trailer Options: Bring your own trailer or use an approved carrier trailer
Experience Required: Recent verifiable CDL-A tractor-trailer experience
Dry Van Owner-Operator Compensation
Qualified dry van owner-operators may receive:
75% of linehaul revenue when using a carrier-provided trailer
80% of linehaul revenue when bringing an approved dry van trailer
Opportunities to earn up to 82% based on equipment and program qualifications
100% of applicable fuel surcharge
100% of approved accessorial compensation
Potential weekly gross revenue of $5,500–$8,500+
Potential to gross $8,000–$10,000+ during qualifying high-mileage or premium-freight weeks
Weekly settlements
Direct deposit
Fuel advances on approved loads
Detention compensation
Layover compensation
Additional-stop compensation
Truck ordered not used compensation
Driver-assist compensation when applicable

Actual revenue depends on freight rates, accepted loads, miles driven, operating region, deadhead, equipment, market conditions, time on the road, and the business decisions made by the owner-operator.
